What to do when the workouts not working

What to do when the workouts not working

How many times have you heard someone say this? I’ve been exercising five days a week and eating less for the last 6 months and haven’t noticed a significant change in my weight. What can I do to get the pounds to start coming off? It's a common problem, but luckily we've got our Trainer of the Week Kevin Hubble on hand to give us his top 3 tips.

Make sure you are eating enough.

Although this sounds strange, if you don’t eat enough, your body goes into starvation mode and will lower the amount of calories you burn on a daily basis. The best way to figure out how much to eat is to meet with a registered dietician. They are qualified to analyze your current food intake and make some recommendations.

Don’t neglect the stairs.

Sometimes we tend to over look the many ways to burn calories that are all around us on a daily basis.  Think about taking the stairs every day instead of the lift, or park your car the other side of the car park when your at the shops. These little bits of extra exercise add up over time, so don’t write them off just cause your not on a treadmill at the gym. Try to walk as much as possible.

Make sure you get your rest.

You are working hard to lose the weight, so don’t neglect your body when it needs to recover. Your body needs time to recover from the workout your doing, so make sure you are getting between 7 and 8 hours sleep per night.
